What is a Web Service?
Web service is the next big thing for the connected world. Web services are the software services that can be deployed in the Web infrastructure, published and identified by universal standards and accessed through standard Web protocols. Web services can be from the smallest services to industrial-strength services.
Web services are bound to replace the monolithic and client-server applications to be accessible to users and applications over the Web. Web services, being an evolutionary technology, strictly follow the standard and well-tested services-oriented architecture. Web services technology facilitates reusability and integration of enterprise applications.
